The Life on Mars project is from my DDN-115 class for digital design. The prompt for this assignment was to create a digital billboard advertisement for the client, Mars 1. On this digital billboard, I promoted real estate development for the first colony on Mars. I used selection tools to extract subjects (like houses, people, glass domes to support life on Mars, etc.) and place them into a Mars landscape using nondestructive image editing workflows.
My design process begins with getting my ideas into physical form. In these thumbnails, my goal is to make a rough, interesting poster focusing on composition. I also included potential slogans below the thumbnails for future reference.
After I had selected a suitable thumbnail, I then searched Unsplash for relative images that I would then compile into an appealing poster for Mars 1.
I utilized many of Photoshop's features to reinvent the raw photos into a Martian city ready for humanity's new space age.
